Fit For Duty: A First Responder Training Course

This course will provide an overview of Tactical Strength and Conditioning and the job demands required of the tactical athlete. Specific attention will be placed on fundamental knowledge to ensure the certified individual can train the tactical athlete to improve the fitness-related attributes of job performance, promote wellness and decrease injury as it pertains to Law Enforcement, Fire/Rescue, EMS, and Military personnel. A focus on the knowledge, skills, and experiences concepts of Tactical Strength and Conditioning with the intent to ensure certified individuals who may have an interest in working within the tactical population.  

Course Objectives: 

  1. Understand the need for a TSAC professional and how they would integrate into a tactical program.
  2. Understand the scope of practice of the TSAC Practitioner as it pertains to a program within an organization, department, unit, and/or battalion.  
  3. Discuss the basic fundamentals of coaching with regards to the tactical population.
  4. Identify different communication strategies to enhance the tactical operators readiness.
